Notification Settings
21RISK sends email notifications to your members for important events — such as welcoming new users when they are invited to your organization. The Notification Settings page lets you view and customize these emails to match your organization's tone and branding.
Note: Only Organization Owners can edit notification templates. All other users can view the current configuration but cannot make changes.
Accessing Notification Settings Accessing Notification Settings
To access notification settings, navigate to Settings in the sidebar and click on the Notifications tab.
You will see a list of all notification templates available for customization. Each entry shows:
- The name of the notification
- A brief description of when it is sent
- Whether it is currently enabled or disabled
Click on any notification to open its detail page.
Editing a Notification Editing a Notification
On the notification detail page, organization owners can:
| Action | Description |
|---|---|
| Edit the subject | Change the email subject line |
| Edit the body | Change the email body text |
| Toggle enabled | Enable or disable the notification entirely — disabled notifications will not be sent |
| Revert to defaults | Remove all customizations and restore the original template |
Using Variables Using Variables
Notification templates support variables — dynamic placeholders that are replaced with real values when the email is sent. Variables are written using double curly braces:
{{ organizationName }}
Each notification template lists the available variables in its description. For example, the Welcome Email supports:
-
{{ organizationName }}— Your organization's name -
{{ hostWithProtocol }}— The URL of your 21RISK instance
You can use these variables in both the subject and body fields.
Disabling a Notification Disabling a Notification
If your organization handles certain communications through other channels, you can disable individual notifications. A disabled notification will simply not be sent — no email will go out when the triggering event occurs.
To disable a notification, open the detail page and toggle the Enabled switch off, then click Save .
Reverting to Defaults Reverting to Defaults
If you want to undo all customizations and go back to the original template, click the Revert to defaults button at the bottom of the detail page. This action cannot be undone — it removes your custom subject, body, and enabled setting, restoring everything to the 21RISK default.
