Activity Log

21RISK keeps a detailed record of important changes that happen across your organization. The Activity Log gives you full visibility into events like board creation, ownership changes, site updates, and more — so you always know who did what and when.

Viewing the Activity Log

The activity log is available at two levels:

  • Organization level — Navigate to Settings → Activity → Logs to see all activity across the entire organization
  • Board level — Open any board's Settings → Activity → Logs to see activity specific to that board

The log shows each event with a timestamp, a description of what happened, and who performed the action.

Activity Types

21RISK tracks the following types of activity:

Board Responsibility Added Recorded when a new responsibility is created on a board Board
Board Owner Added Recorded when a user is added as board owner Board

Group Owner Added Recorded when a user is promoted to group owner Global
Group Owner Removed Recorded when a user is removed as group owner Global
Site Added Recorded when a new site is created Global
Site Updated Recorded when a site is updated Global
Site Deleted Recorded when a site is permanently deleted Global
Site Set Inactive Recorded when a site is set to inactive Global
Site Reactivated Recorded when an inactive site is reactivated Global

Global activities appear in the organization-level activity log. Board activities appear in both the organization-level and the relevant board's activity log.

Email Subscriptions

You can subscribe to receive email notifications when specific activity types occur. This is especially useful for organization owners who want to stay informed about critical changes without constantly checking the activity log.

Managing subscriptions at the organization level

Navigate to Settings → Activity to see all available activity types and their subscription status.

Each activity type shows:

  • The name and description of the activity
  • Whether it is enabled by default — some critical activities are automatically subscribed for organization owners
  • A toggle to subscribe or unsubscribe from email notifications

Managing subscriptions at the board level

For board-scoped activity types (like Board Owner changes and Board Responsibility additions), you can manage subscriptions from the board's settings:

  • Compliance boards — Board Settings → Activity
  • Insurance — Insurance Settings → Activity

Board-scoped activities are marked as "Controlled on board" when viewed at the organization level.

Default Subscriptions

Some activity types are enabled by default , meaning you will receive email notifications without needing to opt in:

You can override the default at any time by toggling the subscription on or off. Your explicit choice always takes priority over the default.

Email Notifications

When a subscribed activity occurs, you will receive an email with:

  • A clear description of what happened (e.g., "Ryan Georgetown created board 'Fire Safety' in Acme Corp")
  • A View Activity button that links directly to the relevant activity log page

Notifications are sent to the email address associated with your 21RISK account.
