Bulk import responsibilities
Purpose Purpose
Bulk importing responsibilities lets you assign users to named board responsibilities across many sites at once. This works for the Insurance board and Compliance boards.
Use this when you already have responsibility assignments in a spreadsheet, HR system, site owner list, broker template, or internal role matrix.

Important rules:
- Responsibilities must already exist on the board.
- Users must already exist in your organization.
- The template is generated from the board's current responsibility columns.
- Existing assignments are detected and skipped.
- You need Manage Settings permission on the relevant board.
When a user is assigned to a responsibility at a site, they automatically receive access to that site. You do not need to grant site access separately for that assignment.
Download the template Download the template
Open the responsibility settings for the board:
- For Insurance: Insurance > Settings > Responsibilities .
- For Compliance: open the board, then go to Settings > Responsibilities .
Click Bulk import , then download the template.
The template includes:
- Instructions.
- A
data-to-importsheet with site rows and one column per responsibility.
Fill out the template Fill out the template
Each row represents one site. Each responsibility appears as a column. Enter the user's email address in the cell where that user should be assigned.

Leave cells blank to skip that assignment.
Upload and import Upload and import
Upload the spreadsheet to create a what-if analysis. The preview shows new assignments, existing assignments, and errors such as unknown users.
When the preview is correct, click Import now .
