NatCat and climate
Purpose Purpose
NatCat and climate data helps Insurance teams understand natural catastrophe and climate exposure across insured sites. It supports conversations with insurers, brokers, risk engineers, and management by connecting location data with hazard and climate information.
NatCat and climate data is tied to Insurance sites. The quality of site addresses and coordinates matters, because location is the basis for the analysis.
What you can review What you can review
The NatCat and climate area can include:
- Site-level hazard and climate scores.
- Natural catastrophe exposure by insured site.
- Purchased or created NatCat data records.
- Transactions related to NatCat data creation or purchase. Use the NatCat transactions list to review purchase or creation history.
- Reports or PDFs where available.
Access Access
Users need the Read NatCat Insurance permission to view NatCat and climate data. Group owners have full access.
Site access is still respected. A user can only work with sites they are allowed to access, even if the Insurance board includes more sites.

- Sites without reliable coordinates may need address cleanup before analysis is useful.
- NatCat is part of Insurance reporting, but it is separate from manually entered values and COPE data.
- NatCat data can help prioritize risk improvements when natural hazard exposure is high.
