Insurance sites and access
Purpose Purpose
The Insurance board has its own site scope and access settings. Site scope controls which sites are part of the Insurance portfolio. Access controls which users, user groups, responsibilities, and owners can work with Insurance data.
Insurance uses the same board-site model as newer Compliance boards: you can add site groups or individual sites to the board.
Choosing sites Choosing sites
Open Insurance > Settings > Sites to manage the sites linked to the Insurance board.
You can add:
| Option | Use it when |
|---|---|
| Site groups | Insurance should cover a reusable set of sites, such as All Sites, EMEA, Warehouses, or a program scope. |
| Individual sites | Insurance needs one-off additions, exceptions, or pilot sites outside an existing group. |
Adding a site group includes the active sites in that group. If a site is later added to or removed from that group, the effective Insurance site scope can change too.
If Insurance should cover every site, add the built-in All Sites group instead of adding sites one by one.
Insurance-enabled sites Insurance-enabled sites
Insurance value and COPE workflows use the Insurance board site scope. Value and COPE import templates only include active sites that are linked to the Insurance board directly or through a site group.
When a site is missing from an Insurance value or COPE workflow, check both:
- The site is linked to the Insurance board directly or through a site group.
- The site is active and included on the Insurance board where the workflow requires it.
Board access Board access
Insurance access is configured from Insurance > Settings > Access . You can grant access to individual users, user groups, responsibilities, and owners.
Important Insurance permissions include:
| Permission | What it controls |
|---|---|
| Read COPE & Values | View Insurance values and COPE data. |
| Update COPE & Values | Edit Insurance values and COPE data. |
| Read Risk Improvements | View risk improvement recommendations. |
| Create Risk Improvements | Create new risk improvements. |
| Update Risk Improvements | Edit existing risk improvements. |
| Delete Risk Improvements | Delete risk improvements. |
| Approve Risk Improvements | Approve risk improvements where approval workflows apply. |
| Read NatCat | View NatCat and climate data. |
| Manage Access | Configure Insurance board access. |
| Manage Settings | Configure Insurance settings such as sites, statuses, periods, GRC, automations, and responsibilities. |
| Transfer Responsibilities | Reassign responsibility assignments where allowed. |
Effective access Effective access
Effective access shows the final result after all access sources are combined. A user may get Insurance access from direct board access, user group access, board ownership, organization ownership, or a responsibility assignment.
Site access is still respected. Even if a user can access the Insurance board, they can only work with sites they are allowed to access.
