Notifications

What notifications are

Notifications are your personal inbox in 21RISK. They tell you when something happens that involves you — a risk improvement you're responsible for gets updated, a report is added, insured values change — so you don't have to go looking for it. A bell in the left sidebar shows how many unread notifications you have, and the Notifications page collects them all in one place, grouped by board.

Your inbox

Open Notifications from the sidebar to see your inbox. Notifications are grouped by board and sorted newest first, and unread ones are highlighted.

  • The bell in the sidebar shows your unread count and updates on its own.
  • Click any notification to jump straight to the item it's about.
  • Use Mark all as read to clear the unread count, or a notification marks itself read when you open it.

Choosing how much you hear: watch levels

For each board you pick a watch level that decides what you get notified about. The default is Participating & @mentions , which keeps things quiet until something actually involves you.

Watch level What you get
Participating & @mentions (Default) Only items you're involved in — ones you're responsible for, have edited, or have commented on.
All activity Everything that happens on the board.
Ignore Nothing — unless you've chosen to follow a specific item.

You can change your watch level in two places:

  • The Watch button on the board, next to the board's name.
  • The board's Settings page, under the Notifications card.

Your watch level is personal — it only affects your own notifications, never anyone else's.

Following a single risk improvement

Sometimes you care about one specific risk improvement even if you don't want everything from its board. Open the risk improvement and use Subscribe to follow just that item. You'll be notified about it from then on — even if your board watch level is set to Ignore .

To stop following it, open the same item and choose Unsubscribe . Muting an item this way wins over everything else, so you won't hear about it again even if you're otherwise participating.

Managing what you watch

The Watching tab on the Notifications page lists every board you have a watch level on, so you can review and adjust them all from one screen — handy as the number of boards you're involved in grows.

Email and real-time

You don't have to keep the app open to stay informed:

  • Real-time — when something happens, your inbox and the bell update immediately, no refresh needed.
  • Email — important notifications are also sent to your email address, with a link straight back to the relevant item.
