Many organizations track progress in a custom field, such as how far a site has come with a standard, or a rating on each finding. Until now, changing that field needed the same permission as changing everything else: Update Sites for sites, which also lets people rename sites, change their addresses and move them in the hierarchy, or permission to update items on a board. You can now decide who changes each field.
Open Actions → Manage table → Fields on Sites or on a board, and select a custom field. Under Editors, pick the user groups whose members may change it. Choose Internal Users to let every employee move a site up or down, or a smaller group such as your site managers.
Editors can change the field on the sites they have access to, or on the items they can see, even if they can only view the board. Everything else stays locked for them, and the other fields stay read-only, with a note explaining why.
Some fields should be set by one team only, like a rating your risk engineers give. Turn on Only editors can change this field, and Update Sites or permission to update items no longer covers it. Only the editor groups can set or change it, also when a site or item is created or sites are imported. Organization owners can always change it.
