Keep every policy of your global insurance programme with the renewal it belongs to: the master policy, the local policies and Freedom of Services, with their documents and premium rates. Then choose which policy insures each site.
A multinational property programme is a master policy, local policies in the countries that require one and often a FOS policy, each with schedules, certificates and endorsements. And every renewal brings a new set.
The master policy came in one email, the local policies in others, and the endorsements months after the renewal.
Master, local or Freedom of Services: the answer sits in a broker’s schedule or in someone’s head, not next to the site.
Same policies, new documents, new rates. Keeping this year’s wording apart from last year’s is a folder structure nobody trusts.
Policies is a page under Insurance. The policies of a renewal sit with the values and COPE data submitted for it, and earlier renewals keep theirs.
Add the master policy, the local policies and the FOS policy to the insurance period, each with its documents and premium rate.
Choose in the Values table which policy insures each site, or mark it outside the global programme.
A new period starts with the same policies, rates and placements. Upload the new documents and change only what moved.
| Name | Type | Rate (‰) | Documents |
|---|---|---|---|
| Global master - Lead insurer | Master policy | 0.42 | 6 |
| EU/EEA - FOS | Freedom of Services (FOS) | 0.42 | 2 |
| Canada - Local insurer | Local policy | 0.51 | 3 |
| France - Local insurer | Local policy | 0.47 | 4 |
| Germany - Local insurer | Local policy | 0.45 | 3 |
| United States - Local insurer No documents yet | Local policy | 0 |
Upload the wording with its schedules, certificates and endorsements, and choose which one is the policy. Open it from the list and page through the rest.
Record each policy’s premium rate in per mille of the insured values, and sort the policies by it. A new period starts with last period’s rates.
Policies belong to their period. Last year’s wording stays with last year’s values, and every change is in the activity log.
The Values table has a Policy column. Place each site under the master policy, its local policy or the FOS policy, or mark it outside the global programme. Filter it to list every site under the German local policy, or every site without a policy yet, and take it along in the Excel export. With many sites, ask an AI assistant to place every site in Germany under the German local policy.
| Site | TIV | Policy |
|---|---|---|
| Aalborg plant | €69.2M | Global master - Lead insurer |
| Lyon plant | €42.7M | France - Local insurer |
| Tallinn warehouse | €8.9M | EU/EEA - FOS |
| Toronto plant | €31.4M | Canada - Local insurer |
| Shanghai JV | €12.6M | Outside the global programme |
| Hamburg DC | €44.0M | – Germany - Local insurer |
21RISK reads the policy documents you upload. Ask the AI assistant, or Claude or Copilot through the 21RISK MCP server, and it answers from the wording, naming the document and page with a link that opens it.
Types, renewals and permissions are in the docs: insurance policies. For the values each site declares under its policy, see property insurance value collection.
A property insurance programme that insures a group’s sites in many countries together. A master policy from the lead insurer sits on top, local policies are issued in the countries whose rules require one, and a Freedom of Services (FOS) policy often covers EU and EEA countries without a local policy. Each policy comes with its own schedules, certificates and endorsements.
Under Insurance › Policies, per insurance period. Each policy has a type (master, FOS or local), a name, its premium rate in per mille and its documents: the policy itself plus any schedules, certificates and endorsements. A period holds one master policy and one FOS policy at most, and any number of local policies.
In the Policy column of the Values table, or on the Policy card of the site’s overview. Choose one of the period’s policies, or Outside the global programme for a site with insurance of its own. Filter the column to list every site under one policy or every site without one yet. It is part of the Excel export, and an AI assistant can place many sites in one go.
A new period starts with the previous period’s policies, with the same types, names and rates but without their documents, and every site stays under the same policy. Upload the new documents and change the rates and the sites that moved. Earlier periods keep their own policies, documents and placements, and you can still add documents to a locked period.
Yes. 21RISK reads the text of the PDF, Word and Excel documents you upload. Ask the AI assistant, or one connected through the 21RISK MCP server, for example what the flood deductible is in this year’s master policy. It names the document and page it answers from.
Members with Manage Settings on the Insurance board, usually its administrators. Contributors who update values see which policy insures a site but not the Policies page, and cannot change it. Every upload, change and placement is recorded in the board’s activity log.
Talk to us about your programme, and we will show you its policies next to your sites and values.
