User Effective Access — A complete permission overview per user

Apr 10, 2026
The User Effective Access page showing tenant permissions, site access sources, and board access for a user

We've added a new Effective Access page to every user in 21RISK — giving you a single, comprehensive view of everything a user can do across your entire organization ✨

What's new

Every user now has a dedicated detail page with two tabs: Details (the existing user form) and Effective Access . You can access it by clicking the Open full page link in the user dialog.

The Effective Access page brings together four key areas:

Tenant Permissions

See the user's organization-level permissions at a glance — Organization Owner, Create Users, Update Sites, Billing, and more. Each permission is clearly shown as granted or not.

Site Access

A table showing every site the user can access, with individual columns showing how they got access:

  • Direct — Explicitly assigned to the site
  • Access All Sites — Has the tenant-level "Access All Sites" permission
  • Org Owner — Is an Organization Owner
  • Responsibility — Assigned via a board responsibility

Board Access

All compliance boards the user has access to, with their board-level permissions: Create Items, Update Items, Delete Items, Approve Items, Manage Access, and Manage Settings.

Insurance Access

Insurance board access shown separately with the correct insurance-specific permissions: Read/Update COPE values, Read/Create/Update/Delete/Approve Risk Improvements, Read NatCat, and Manage Access/Settings.

Why this matters

  • User auditing — Review a user's full permission footprint in one view, instead of checking each board and site individually
  • Onboarding — Verify a new team member has exactly the right access before they start
  • Offboarding — Confirm what a departing user had access to for handover planning
  • Compliance — Demonstrate role-based access control during security reviews

A sticky table of contents

The page includes a dynamic table of contents on the right side that follows you as you scroll, making it easy to jump between sections.
