Bulk import sites with addresses and custom columns

We've supercharged our bulk import for sites with two highly requested features: full address support and custom columns. Now you can import everything about your sites in a single upload 😎

Complete address data in one import

No more manual entry of addresses after import! The Excel template now includes all address fields you need:

  • Full address β€” The complete address string
  • Country & country code β€” ISO country codes (US, DK, SE, etc.) and country names
  • Region & district β€” State, province, or regional breakdown
  • City, locality & neighborhood β€” Detailed location information
  • Street address β€” Street name and number
  • Postal code β€” ZIP or postal codes
  • GPS coordinates β€” Latitude and longitude for map features

With GPS coordinates included, your sites will appear on maps immediately after import β€” perfect for geographic analysis and site location features.

Your custom data, your way

Site custom columns are now fully supported in bulk imports. Any custom columns you've configured will automatically appear in the Excel template, ready for you to populate. We support all 5 column types:

  • Select β€” Dropdown options for priority levels, status, or classifications
  • Number β€” Numeric values like square footage, headcount, or scores
  • Text β€” Free-form text for notes or descriptions
  • ID β€” Unique identifiers for external system integration
  • Date β€” Important dates like last audit or next inspection

This means you can import sites from your existing systems with all metadata intact β€” SAP codes, priority levels, compliance dates, and more β€” in a single operation.

Why this matters

Think about a typical site onboarding scenario. Previously, you'd import the sites, then manually add addresses, then update custom fields one by one. Now? Fill out one spreadsheet, upload once, and you're done. For organizations importing hundreds of sites, this saves hours of work and eliminates data entry errors.

Even better, if you're integrating with external systems, you can now include your unique identifiers (like SAP plant codes or insurance policy numbers) directly in the import. This creates an immediate bridge between 21RISK and your existing infrastructure from day one.
