Some figures on the values form are not the site's to decide. Your insurance team may set the business interruption period for every site, or agree a building value with the insurer, and a site that changes it on its own puts the renewal out of step. You can now lock those columns.
The value columns table under Insurance > Settings has a lock switch in every row. It works for the built-in values, the Business Interruption Period and your own columns alike, and saves straight away.
Only insurance administrators, people with Manage Settings on the Insurance board, can change a locked value. Everyone else sees it on the values form with its input disabled and a short note saying it is locked.
A locked value still belongs to the site's review. Sites can add information about it, attach files and confirm it as unchanged, so their progress can still reach 100%.
The lock holds wherever values are entered. A bulk import by someone else is refused when it fills a locked column, and blank cells keep the values as they are. Updates through the API and the 21RISK assistant are refused the same way.
Locks belong to the period, and a new period starts with the previous period's locks. Locking and unlocking a column is recorded in the activity log.
