Start new findings from a template ✨

The New finding dialog on a findings board, offering Blank or templates such as Fire door defect, Sprinkler impairment and Blocked escape route

Most findings aren't one of a kind. The same fire door that won't close, the same blocked escape route, the same overdue training come up on site after site. Findings boards now have templates, so those findings start with the right details already filled in.

Pick a template when you create a finding

When a board has templates, clicking New finding asks whether to start blank or from one of them. Choose a template and the form opens pre-filled with its name, status, category, cost estimate, tags, custom fields and notes. Review it, pick the site, and save.

It works the same way when you add a finding from a report, and the finding is added to the report as usual.

Set up templates for your board

Board admins manage templates under Settings → Templates on each findings board. Give a template a name and a short description so people know when to use it, then fill in the values new findings should start with. Notes are a great place for a checklist of what to record on site.

Why you'll like it

  • Faster reporting — Recurring findings take seconds instead of minutes to register
  • Consistent data — Findings of the same kind get the same category, tags and cost estimate, which keeps filters and analytics reliable
  • Better findings — A notes checklist reminds everyone what to capture while they're on site
  • Always up to date — Remove a category, tag, status or custom field option from the board, and it's removed from its templates too

Boards without templates work exactly as before. And if you use a connected AI assistant, it can create and update your board's templates for you.
