Until now only organization owners could create boards. That kept things tidy, but it also meant every new compliance program, findings board or folder had to go through an owner. We've added a dedicated permission so you can hand that job to the people who actually run the programs.
Create Boards is a new global permission, right next to Create Users, Create Sites, IT Admin and Billing. Grant it directly on a member, or on a user group so every member inherits it. Anyone holding it can create boards of every type, including folders, and becomes owner of the boards they create. Organization owners keep the ability automatically.
The sidebar section that used to be called Standards is now simply Boards , and it has a plus button next to the name. Click it and pick the type of board you want to create.
If you don't have the permission, the button still works, it just tells you what is missing instead of doing nothing: hover it, or click it, and you'll see that creating boards requires the Create Boards permission or organization ownership, so you know exactly whom to ask.
