Catch duplicate site names before they happen

Keeping site names clean just got easier. When you create a site or rename an existing one , 21RISK now searches your organization's sites as you type and warns you about similar names — before you save.

Why it matters

Duplicate or near-duplicate site names ("Esbjerg Factory" vs "Factory Esbjerg") make reports harder to read and sites harder to find. Exact duplicates have always been blocked, but similar names could slip through unnoticed. Now you see the overlap the moment you type it.

How it works

  • Similar names — a subtle hint below the name field lists up to three existing sites with similar names, each linking to the site so you can check before deciding
  • Exact match — if the name is already taken, the hint tells you right away, so you never hit the error at save time
  • Typo-tolerant — the search uses the same fuzzy matching as the sites table, so "Jonkoping" still finds "Jonköping"

The hint is informational only — if the similar name is intentional, just keep typing and save as usual.
